About the heart behind The Hearthmakers
Hi, I’m Samantha
I believe that motherhood isn’t something we’re meant to simply “get through”, but a season God gently invites us to grow through, even in the mess, noise, and interruptions.
As a busy modern mum raising children in a fast-paced city, I know how easy it is to feel overwhelmed, stretched thin, and disconnected from your own heart and faith while trying to meet everyone else’s needs and demands. I’ve lived the nights of doom scrolling, days that blur together, and the deep longing for a calmer, more grounded way to move through motherhood.
What I’ve discovered is that rest doesn’t always come in long getaways or perfect spa days, especially not as a mum with a young family. And the things we hope will fill us — picking up our devices, planning the next vacation, chasing more things, more money, more achievements – leave us feeling emptier and more drained than before.
That’s why I created The Hearthmakers. A little corner of the internet for Christian mums craving creative, soul-tending, restorative rest in the middle of real life.
A place where slow living meets city realities (who says slow and simple is only for farms and prairies?)
Where we talk about raising little disciples without striving, (and definitely without judgment or comparison)
And where creating with our hands become gentle tools to reconnect with God and ourselves; where slow handcrafts like embroidery become little restorative moments of making that steady your heart and helps you create space just for you — yes, even if you only have ten minutes to spare.
You don’t have to consider yourself “artsy” or “creative”, or one of those “crafty mums.” You don’t need a whole lot of uninterrupted time either.
Here, you’ll find simple practices, encouraging honest faith-at-home stories, and beginner-friendly creative ideas designed for tired, city-dwelling mums who want to refill their own cup, taking small steps toward a softer, slower, more grounded motherhood.
Motherhood is holy, legacy-building work, sweet friend.
And you’re not meant to walk it alone, nor run on empty while doing it.
Let’s journey together.
Samantha
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.”
