Almost overnight, we become known by a new name: Mum. It’s a beautiful calling, but it can become so all-encompassing that we start to forget who we were before we carried that title.
Before we were mothers, we belonged to Christ, called to know, love and become more like Him.
Motherhood doesn’t replace that calling. It gives it a new context.
But what if motherhood wasn’t meant to be an interruption to your discipleship, but the very place where God is shaping you and drawing you closer to Himself?
There’re plenty of lesson ideas and teaching resources out there for the discipleship of children, but here at The Hearthmakers, we’re passionate about the mother’s own discipleship, because as you grow deeper roots in Christ, the blessing and the fruit of that overflows into your family.

Motherhood today can quickly and easily, feel overwhelming. Add on social media, endless parenting advice online, and the pressure to always do more, it’s easy to lose sight of the important things that keep us anchored. So no, Notes From The Hearth won’t be yet another collection of parenting scripts, hacks, or quick tips.
Once a week, I write about my current reflections on all things Scripture and theology as it relates to a mother’s heart, and the holy (often unseen) work of following Christ in the midst of motherhood. Because I truly believe that as we actively pursue Him, the fruit of our spiritual growth naturally overflows, blesses our family, roots our children in faith, and creates a spiritual legacy with generational impact.

I believe the moment you became a mother, you were called to a holy purpose — discipleship: to impart your faith in a deep and lasting way so that your littles will grow to know and love the Lord and hold fast to His ways, no matter the currents of the world they find themselves navigating in future.
